Formula
Reimbursement = business miles × rate per mile
Inputs
- Business miles: Eligible distance.
- Rate per mile: The rate that applies to the trip or policy.
2026 default
The default is $0.76 per mile, the U.S. business standard mileage rate for travel from July 1 through December 31, 2026. The January 1 through June 30, 2026 business rate was $0.725 per mile. Replace the default when another period, employer policy, or jurisdiction applies.
Limits
The calculator only multiplies miles by a rate. It does not determine eligibility, substantiation, commuting treatment, or tax deductibility.
