Estimate nutritional values for your diet plan
Description
The Weight Watcher Points Calculator is a community-driven tool for estimating the point values of food items. While the official “Points” system is proprietary, this calculator uses recognized approximations for two major eras of the program: the Plus System (focused on fiber and macros) and the Smart System (focused on saturated fats and sugars). It helps dieters stay within their daily budget by converting complex nutrition labels into a single, manageable number.
Inputs
- System Selection:
- Smart System: Modern approach prioritizing protein while penalizing sugar and saturated fat.
- Plus System: Classic approach incorporating fiber as a beneficial offset.
- Calories: Total energy content of the food.
- Total Fat (g): Total fat content.
- Protein (g): Total protein content.
- Carbohydrates (g): (Plus System only) Total carb content.
- Fiber (g): (Plus System only) Total dietary fiber.
Outputs
- Estimated Points: The calculated value based on the chosen formula.
Chart
- N/A: This tool provides a direct numeric dieting metric.
“Good to Know”
- The “0 Point” Rule: Many whole foods (like most fruits and vegetables) are considered “Zero Points” in official programs, even though they have calories. This tool calculates pure mathematical points based on label data.
- Smart vs. Plus: If you find that foods with high sugar are giving you very high point values, you are likely using the “Smart” system.
- This tool is an estimation intended to help with meal planning and is not an official Weight Watchers® (WW) application.
