Determine your personalized hydration goal
Description
The Water Intake Calculator takes the guesswork out of hydration. While the “8 glasses a day” rule is famous, hydration needs are actually highly individual. This tool uses your Body Weight as a baseline and adds a specific “Exercise Adjustment” to account for fluids lost through sweat during your daily activities.
Inputs
- Body Weight: Your current weight (lbs).
- Daily Exercise: The amount of time you spend in moderate-to-intense physical activity (Minutes).
Outputs
- Daily Water Goal: Your primary target expressed in Liters.
- In Ounces: Your target expressed in fluid ounces (oz).
- In Cups: The number of standard 8oz glasses you should aim for.
Chart
- N/A: This tool provides a clear numeric hydration roadmap.
“Good to Know”
- A common rule of thumb is to drink 0.5 to 1.0 ounces of water for every pound of body weight.
- Don’t wait until you’re thirsty: Thirst is a late sign of dehydration. Sip consistently throughout the day.
- Other beverages like herbal tea and sparkling water count toward your goal, but pure water is always the highest quality source of hydration.
